European Parliament

The European Parliament meets in two cities – at its monthly plenary sessions in Strasbourg and at meetings of parliamentary committees and political groups in Brussels. The Parliament divides its activities between two countries – Belgium and France – for diplomatic reasons. In practice, this means that the whole Parliament: Members and assistants, staff, journalists, interpreters and others, travel to Strasbourg once a month for the plenary session.

I have had the pleasure of interpreting at the Parliament on several occasions in both locations, including at the ACP-EU Summit in Brussels, during meetings of various parliamentary committees (including the Internal Market Committee; the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety; and the Committee on Legal Affairs) and press conferences.
