Remote interpreting has been used more often since the advent of the coronavirus pandemic. It is usually done online through video conferencing apps such as Zoom, Skype or Google Meet, or in special hubs.<\/p>\n

      Online meetings are a real organisational challenge for all of us. For such meetings to be successful, a reliable Internet connection, reliable computer equipment and good quality headphones with a microphone are essential. I work with an Asus Zenbook notebook and JBL headphones with a built-in microphone and active noise cancellation technology, which have already proven to be effective in many online meetings. I have experience with various video conferencing applications such as Zoom and Google Meet. Together with clients, we went through the first months of the pandemic, when this kind of interpreting was only in its infancy, working out the right standards. At the moment, online interpreting is successfully replacing simultaneous interpreting in times when moving around and holding face-to-face meetings is impossible. <\/p>\n

      There are many kinds of online interpreting – consecutive or simultaneous, or an online version of whispered interpreting (more in Services). Online simultaneous interpreting is best done when the interpreters are located in the same place, in a special \u201chub\u201d or an office adapted for online videoconferencing. We also have a solution for interpreters who cannot physically work in the same spot. <\/p>\n
